ISLAMABAD:Chairman Senate and former prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani held an informal discussion with European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas during a luncheon hosted in Islamabad by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
According to the Senate Secretariat, the interaction took place during a luncheon held in honour of Kallas, who is also Vice-President of the European Commission and the former prime minister of Estonia.
During the meeting, Gilani welcomed Kallas and appreciated her visit to Pakistan, describing it as an important step towards strengthening relations between Pakistan and the European Union.
The discussion focused on bilateral engagement and opportunities to further enhance cooperation between Pakistan and the EU. Gilani highlighted the importance of continued dialogue and engagement to advance shared interests and deepen diplomatic ties.
Kallas is currently visiting Pakistan as part of efforts aimed at promoting cooperation on regional and international issues, as well as expanding engagement between Pakistan and European institutions.
