ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a comprehensive cleanliness campaign in various tourist spots of the federal capital to attract mass tourists.
Talking to APP, a CDA official said that an effective drive has been launched soon to ensure a clean and hygienic environment as a large number of tourists come to the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to enjoy tourism.
The CDA said sanitation workers are involved in collecting plastic waste and throwing away garbage. According to him, one of the main challenges is to ensure a plastic environment, especially in green areas, because there are too many plastic bottles, containers and shopping bags in tourist areas.
He urged the public to deposit waste materials into dustbins that have been installed in all parks in the capital to provide a new environment necessary for a healthy life.
Officials say educating others about park cleanliness and avoiding littering at tourist spots is the primary duty of every citizen.
Meanwhile, citizens belonging to various walks of life appreciated CDA’s efforts in the cleanliness campaign.
