ISLAMABAD, September 17: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) conducted a detailed field visit to review the updated status and progress of ongoing development projects across Islamabad, directing officials to ensure their timely completion while strictly maintaining quality and engineering standards.
During the visit, Member Building, Member Environment, DG Works, DG Infrastructure and other senior CDA officers were present. The CDA chairman inspected various project sites and reviewed the pace of work, construction quality, implementation timelines and overall progress of the development schemes.
The concerned officers, project directors, engineers, consultants and representatives of executing agencies briefed the chairman on the current status of ongoing projects, work completed so far, activities in progress, timelines and issues, if any, affecting project implementation.
The CDA chairman directed all concerned formations to ensure that development projects are completed within the approved timelines while strictly maintaining the required quality, engineering standards and approved specifications.
Focus on Timely Completion and Quality
The CDA chairman emphasized that timely completion of development projects is essential to provide maximum benefit to citizens. He directed the concerned officers and executing agencies to accelerate ongoing works and ensure that all project components are completed in a coordinated and systematic manner.
He made it clear that accelerating work must not compromise quality. All construction activities must strictly conform to approved designs, technical specifications, engineering standards and quality-control requirements.
The chairman directed the concerned formations to undertake regular inspections and ensure effective supervision at every stage of project execution. Contractors and executing agencies were also directed to strictly comply with approved specifications and contractual obligations.
Review of Ongoing Infrastructure Development
During the field visit, the CDA chairman reviewed the updated status of various ongoing development schemes, particularly infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity, mobility and the overall urban environment of Islamabad.
Progress on road construction and rehabilitation works, bridges, underpasses, drainage systems, pedestrian facilities, landscaping and other allied infrastructure projects was reviewed.
The CDA chairman directed the concerned officers to closely monitor the progress of each project and immediately address any technical, administrative or operational bottlenecks that could affect the approved timelines.
He further directed different CDA formations, consultants and contractors to maintain close coordination to ensure the smooth execution of projects and avoid unnecessary delays.

Construction material and debris should also be removed promptly, while cleanliness around project sites and adjoining roads must be maintained.

The CDA chairman directed all concerned members, senior officers and project directors to personally monitor the progress of ongoing development schemes and conduct regular site inspections.
All concerned officers were directed to proactively resolve issues and ensure that projects remain on schedule. The concerned formations were also instructed to maintain effective coordination so that different components of development projects are completed simultaneously and become operational for the public without unnecessary delay.
The progress of development projects will be regularly reviewed at the appropriate level, while any issue requiring administrative or technical intervention will be brought forward immediately for resolution.
