CDA, Aga Khan University Discuss Landmark Teaching Hospital in Islamabad

Islamabad — Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met with President of Aga Khan University Dr. Sulaiman Shahabuddin, Chairman of the Aga Khan Board of Trustees Zakir Mahmood, and other senior members at CDA Headquarters to discuss the establishment of a state-of-the-art teaching and tertiary care hospital in the capital.

During the meeting, Chairman Randhawa welcomed the delegation and expressed his full support for the proposed Aga Khan University Teaching Hospital, calling it a significant milestone in Islamabad’s healthcare and medical education landscape. The initiative aims to deliver high-quality medical services and advanced teaching facilities aligned with international standards.

President Shahabuddin shared the university’s vision to promote excellence in medical education and healthcare delivery. He emphasized the importance of establishing an integrated teaching and research hospital that would serve not only Islamabad but also patients from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Both sides agreed to explore options for allocating a prime, easily accessible location for the hospital to ensure public convenience and optimal service delivery.
