ISLAMABAD: (June 23, 2025): Acting Chairman CDA, Talat Mehmood, chaired a review meeting at the CDA Headquarters in Islamabad to have performance view of the Islamabad Solid Waste Management Department, CDA in line with the direction of Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and DG Civil Defense Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by Member Finance, Member Environment, DG Environment CDA and other senior officers.
Acting Chairman CDA Talat Mehmood expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Solid Waste Management Department CDA and commended its efforts, particularly during the recent Eid-ul-Adha, when the Solid Waste Management Department had disposed of 2,400 tons of waste from urban and rural areas of Islamabad which is an exceptionally outstanding achievement.
The meeting was informed that the Solid Waste Management Department CDA is accelerating its efforts to establish state-of-the-art landfill sites and implement waste-to-energy initiatives.
Acting Chairman CDA Talat Mehmood directed the Solid Waste Management Department to further improve waste management systems in both urban and rural areas. He emphasized that, as per the instructions of Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the department should have review of national and international best practices and models in solid waste management to ensure that all available resources are utilized to modernize the CDA’s Solid Waste Management Department.
On this occasion, Acting Chairman CDA Talat Mehmood said that under the vision of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the supervision of Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and DG Civil Defense Muhammad Ali Randhawa, CDA is taking all necessary measures to transform the Federal Capital, Islamabad, into a modern, clean, green, beautiful and environmentally friendly model city.
