LAHORE: Central Business District Punjab Chief Executive Officer Imran Amin inspected several major development projects in Lahore on Monday, reviewing construction progress, monsoon preparedness and safety measures across key sites.
The visit covered CBD Vertex, CBD Route 47, CBD Walk and the Nawaz Sharif IT City, also known as CBD NSIT City, as the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority moved to assess the performance and pace of its flagship urban infrastructure projects.
Imran Amin was accompanied by senior engineering and project management officials, representatives of NESPAK and contractors working on the developments.
A major focus of the inspection was the performance of the authority’s drainage and road infrastructure during Lahore’s recent monsoon rainfall.
According to CBD Punjab, Route 47 remained open and accessible to traffic despite receiving around 263 millimetres of rain, while several other parts of Lahore experienced water accumulation and traffic disruption.
The CEO praised engineering teams, consultants and contractors for maintaining the road’s operational capacity during the heavy rainfall. He said the performance reflected the effectiveness of the project’s drainage design, construction standards and maintenance arrangements.
However, he directed project teams to continue monitoring vulnerable locations during the monsoon season and ensure that emergency response measures remained in place.
Finishing Work Reviewed at CBD Vertex
During the inspection of CBD Vertex, Imran Amin reviewed finishing work, including the installation of exterior tiles and epoxy flooring.
He instructed the project management team to ensure that construction quality was not compromised in efforts to meet completion deadlines.
Officials briefed the CEO on the remaining work and the expected progress of finishing activities at the site.
Work Accelerated at CBD NSIT City
At CBD NSIT City, the CEO directed contractors to accelerate construction while maintaining safety and quality standards.
He was informed that development of the main park and public spaces was progressing according to schedule. Work on the entrance gate’s pillars and columns was also underway, while asphalt work on the main entrance section had been completed.
Imran Amin instructed contractors to maintain uniform construction quality across the project and avoid visible differences in design, finishing and structural execution.
He also called for an expansion of green areas within the development and asked project managers to organise working hours in a way that reduced weather-related disruption during the monsoon season.
The CEO said workforce safety and productivity must remain central to construction planning, particularly during periods of heavy rain.
“Our objective is not only to deliver world-class infrastructure but also to ensure that it performs under the most challenging conditions,” Imran Amin said.
He added that the continued operation of CBD Route 47 during a major monsoon spell demonstrated the authority’s focus on resilient infrastructure, sustainable development and construction quality.
CBD Punjab is undertaking multiple commercial, technology and infrastructure projects in Lahore aimed at attracting investment, supporting business activity and promoting planned urban development.
The authority said progress on the projects would continue to be monitored to ensure timely completion, environmental sustainability and compliance with engineering and safety standards.
