A five-day Capacity Building Program for University Management was successfully conducted at the Government Sadiq College Women University (GSCWU), Bahawalpur. The program, which brought together 32 participants from GSCWU and The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), aimed to enhance the leadership, governance, and operational capacities of higher education institutions. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Ms. Noor Amna Malik, who currently serves as the Managing Director of the National Academy of Higher Education at the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Islamabad. Prior to her current role, Ms. Malik served as the Advisor for Monitoring & Evaluation at HEC from March 2019 to March 2021. In this capacity, she successfully oversaw and steered 144 PSDP development projects aimed at enhancing universities across Pakistan. Before this, she held the position of Director of Quality Assurance and Quality Enhancement at the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) from November 2016 to March 2019. During her address, Ms. Malik highlighted the significance of capacity-building training programs in empowering professionals to excel in their respective fields. She emphasized the importance of conducting such training sessions in a manner that is both professional and impactful, ensuring that participants gain the essential skills to drive growth and innovation in their careers. The inaugural ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Dr. Hafiza Bareera Hameed, followed by a Naat-e-Rasool by Dr. Rabia Bahoo. Vice Chancellor of GSCWU, Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, served as the Chief Guest and officially inaugurated the program. She commended the efforts of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sadiq, Training Coordinator and Director of Academics at GSCWU, for his pivotal role in organizing the event. She further acknowledged NAHE for spearheading such an impactful initiative aimed at empowering faculty and administrative staff. The program featured distinguished resource persons who led sessions on various critical aspects of university management. Dr. Abid Hussain, Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Educational Leadership and Management at IUB, as well as the Founding Director of the Directorate of International Linkages, delivered insightful sessions on policy formulation, leadership skills, organizational policies, teamwork, succession planning, and technology integration. He emphasized fostering a culture of lifelong learning. Dr. Muhammad Sarfraz, a trainer at JS&D Consultants Private Limited, Faisalabad, provided practical guidance on organizational development, decision-making strategies, and communication skills. His sessions focused on overcoming communication barriers, enhancing digital communication, professional ethics, and effective documentation techniques such as meeting minutes, report writing, and presentation skills.
