LAHORE: BYD has unveiled its latest new-energy vehicle lineup at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2026, including the BYD SEALION 6, which is planned to become the company’s first locally assembled vehicle in Pakistan.
The showcase, being held in partnership with Mega Motor Company (MMC), runs from September 18 to 20 at the Expo Centre Lahore. BYD said production of the SEALION 6 is targeted to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, marking a planned shift toward local vehicle assembly in Pakistan.
BYD expands new-energy lineup
BYD’s PAPS 2026 lineup includes the BYD ATTO 2, the BYD SHARK 6 Anniversary Edition in Outback Orange, the SEALION 6 and the DENZA B8, a model from BYD’s luxury technology brand.
The company said the range reflects its focus on electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles and the expanding availability of electrified mobility options for Pakistani consumers.
The SEALION 6 is powered by BYD’s Super DM-i plug-in hybrid technology. According to the company, the vehicle has a claimed total range of up to 1,100 kilometres and is designed to combine electric driving with the flexibility of a hybrid powertrain.
Local assembly planned for Q4 2026
BYD said local assembly of the SEALION 6 is targeted to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026. The company described the planned production as an important step in establishing a local manufacturing presence and expanding its operations in Pakistan.
Lei Jian, Country Head of BYD Pakistan, said the planned local assembly reflects the company’s long-term interest in the Pakistani market and its focus on new-energy mobility.
Danish Khaliq, Vice President Sales and Strategy at BYD Pakistan and Mega Motor Company, said the company’s lineup at PAPS demonstrates the growing range of electric and plug-in hybrid technologies available to Pakistani consumers.

BYD’s vehicles are being displayed at Hall No. 2 of the Expo Centre Lahore from September 18 to 20.
The company said customers booking vehicles at its PAPS 2026 pavilion will be eligible for first-year free service, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
