SHENZHEN — BYD has officially launched Linghui as its fourth independent sub-brand, targeting large-scale B2B mobility services such as ride-hailing, taxis and enterprise transport, as the automaker broadens its commercial electric vehicle strategy.
The new brand will operate with its own dedicated sales and service channels and joins BYD’s existing sub-brands Fangchengbao, Denza and Yangwang. The move positions Linghui to serve fleet operators and institutional clients seeking electrified vehicles built on established platforms.
BYD said Linghui has already filed four vehicle models, developed by upgrading mature architectures currently used across its passenger car lineup. The approach is intended to reduce development risk while meeting the durability and cost requirements of commercial operators.
The lineup includes the Linghui e5, a compact battery-electric sedan based on the Qin PLUS EV platform aimed at mass ride-hailing services, and the Linghui e7, a mid-size electric sedan derived from the Sealion 07 EV platform for higher-end ride-hailing use. At the upper end, the Linghui e9 is built on the Han series architecture, exceeds five metres in length and features a dual-motor setup for premium business mobility.
Linghui’s range also includes the Linghui M9, a plug-in hybrid MPV based on the BYD Xia platform. Designed for long-distance transfers and government or enterprise reception, the model offers a combined driving range of more than 1,200 kilometres.
Together, the four models cover both battery-electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains, spanning compact sedans to large MPVs to address a wide range of commercial operating needs.
Despite its B2B focus, Linghui will continue to use BYD’s in-house technologies where applicable. The company said models may be equipped with systems such as the God’s Eye intelligent driving platform, DiSus intelligent body control, e-Platform 3.0, fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, an integrated 8-in-1 electric powertrain and a wide-temperature high-efficiency heat pump air-conditioning system.
