BEIJING — BYD’s premium brand Denza has opened pre-sales for the Denza N9 flash charging SUV, introducing a large luxury hybrid model with ultra-fast charging and extended electric range as it expands in the high-end SUV market.
The new variant is priced between 450,000 yuan ($65,620) and 500,000 yuan during pre-sales, above the standard N9 range. Final pricing is expected to be lower at launch, following typical market adjustments in China.
The Denza N9 flash charging SUV features BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and upgraded flash charging system, which the company says can fully charge the vehicle in around nine minutes. The system is designed to maintain efficiency even in extreme cold, with minimal increase in charging time.
Range and performance upgrades
Under the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC), the SUV offers a pure electric range of up to 420 kilometres, nearly doubling the 230-kilometre range of the standard model.
The powertrain combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with three electric motors, delivering a total output of 680 kW. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, placing it among high-performance hybrid SUVs in its class.
Advanced features and design
The Denza N9 measures 5,258 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width and 1,830 mm in height, with a 3,125 mm wheelbase, positioning it in the full-size SUV segment.
It comes equipped with BYD’s “God’s Eye 5.0” driver assistance system, along with advanced control technologies including dual-motor rear steering, compass turn capability and a 15-degree crab-walk mode for enhanced maneuverability.
The exterior design retains a business and family-oriented look, featuring a closed front fascia, active grille and 22-inch wheels.
Market positioning and launch benefits
Customers placing orders during the pre-sales period will receive up to 18 months of complimentary flash charging benefits.
The launch builds on the 2026 Denza N9 update introduced in September 2025, as BYD continues to strengthen its presence in the premium electric and hybrid vehicle segment.
