England fast bowler Brydon Carse has been charged with an alleged breach of the England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) Professional Conduct Regulations following an incident at a nightclub in Derby.

The charge comes after the cricket regulator completed its investigation into the incident, which took place on August 23 while Carse was spending the night with his Durham teammates during celebrations in Derby.

According to reports, police handcuffed Carse and subsequently arrested him on suspicion of disorderly behaviour while allegedly intoxicated. He was later released after agreeing to leave the area.

Derbyshire Police also investigated an alleged assault connected to the incident but decided in September that no further action would be taken.

The ECB said Carse has been charged under Clause 3.2 of its Professional Conduct Regulations. Details of any potential disciplinary hearing or sanction were not provided in the supplied report.

Following the incident, Carse was withdrawn from England’s squad for the second Test against Pakistan and has not played international cricket since.

He was also left out of England’s squad for the upcoming ODI tri-series involving Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
