British-based filmmaker of Indian origin Cyrus Patel is at the centre of social media discussion following reports that he has converted to Islam, according to widely circulated posts and documents online.
The reports have gained traction across digital platforms after an alleged conversion certificate began circulating, claiming to be issued by a religious and cultural centre in London. The development has drawn attention in entertainment and social media circles, though no official public confirmation has been issued by Patel himself.
The certificate is being shared online by multiple accounts, including claims attributed to Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Alalshikh. According to these posts, Patel was introduced to Islam during a film-related project in Saudi Arabia, after which he reportedly embraced the faith.
Patel was born in Mumbai and has been based in London since 1999. He has worked in the international film industry as a line producer and production manager, contributing to several major projects including The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and Kandahar.
While the news continues to circulate widely online, there has been no independently verified statement from Patel confirming the reports, leaving the development unverified at this stage.
