KARACHI: A wedding procession created an unusual scene on Karachi’s busy Shah Faisal Bridge after the bride, groom and other guests reportedly stopped traffic and began dancing on the road.
A video circulating on social media shows the newlywed couple dancing on the bridge while members of the wedding party gathered around them. The footage quickly attracted attention after being shared across multiple social media platforms.
According to reports, the wedding procession was passing through Shah Faisal Bridge when several vehicles were stopped on the road. The bride, groom, friends and relatives then stepped out of their vehicles and began celebrating and dancing on the bridge.
The footage also shows a person climbing onto the bridge’s side wall to record the celebration. Traffic on one side of the bridge appears to have been halted while motorists travelling on the opposite side watched the unusual scene.
The video was initially uploaded to Instagram by a content creator before being widely shared on other social media platforms. Vehicles can be seen continuing to move on the other side of the bridge, while some passersby reportedly paused to watch the wedding celebration.
Dancing during weddings, particularly by brides and their friends, has become increasingly common at wedding venues and banquet halls. However, taking wedding celebrations onto busy roads and bridges has also attracted attention on social media.
The Shah Faisal Bridge incident has renewed discussion around the practice of stopping traffic for wedding celebrations. While such gatherings may be intended as moments of joy, blocking a busy road can disrupt traffic flow and create inconvenience for other road users.
