Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan recently revealed in an interview that a co-star intentionally made mistakes during a kissing scene to force multiple retakes.
Kartik, now one of Bollywood’s most sought-after stars and a favorite among filmmakers, shared this amusing anecdote from his early career.
The Incident
Recalling his early days, Kartik mentioned that during the shooting of Subhash Ghai’s 2014 film Kaanchi, a kissing scene with the lead actress, Mishti Chakraborty, required an astounding 37 retakes before being finalized.
According to Kartik, the actress deliberately made errors during the scene, causing it to be reshot repeatedly. The film, which also featured veteran actors like Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty, was a romantic drama.
Kartik’s Reaction
Kartik humorously described the ordeal, suggesting that the retakes were intentional on Mishti’s part. He added that it wasn’t until after three dozen retakes that the scene was approved.
