LAHORE: A seminar on blood cancer awareness was held at Nasir Usmani Auditorium under the auspices of the Lahore Press Club in collaboration with Himmel Pharmaceuticals, where health experts emphasized the need to raise public awareness about this deadly disease.
Addressing the seminar, Professor Dr. Abbas Khokhar, Head of the Oncology Department at Mayo Hospital, said that timely diagnosis of blood cancer plays a vital role in saving patients’ lives, therefore people must immediately consult qualified doctors if they experience relevant symptoms.
He further stated that, with the help of modern research and advanced treatment methods, blood cancer can be controlled, provided patients undergo timely checkups and treatment.
Professor Dr. Kausar Bano, Head of the Oncology Department at Jinnah Hospital, said that social attitudes towards patients also play a significant role in treatment. Providing mental peace and encouragement to the patient is as important as medical care.

Dr. Usman Amin Butt, Director of Himmel Pharmaceuticals, said that private institutions in the health sector are also actively contributing to public welfare projects as part of their social responsibility.
He emphasized that the mission of Himmel Pharmaceuticals is not only to provide medicines but also to create awareness about disease prevention and the importance of timely treatment. He thanked the Lahore Press Club for organizing such an important program on public health.
Speaking on the occasion, Lahore Press Club Secretary Zahid Abid said that the media must play its due role in raising awareness on such vital issues. He also thanked Himmel Pharmaceuticals for serving humanity in such a remarkable way.
