Police in Peshawar say they have arrested two suspects in connection with what investigators describe as a Hayatabad blind murder case involving the fatal shooting of a man in December 2025. Authorities allege the killing was planned by individuals known to the victim, including his wife and her relatives.
The case relates to the death of Ahmad Ishtiaq, who was shot while sitting in his car in Phase 5 of Hayatabad near PGH Hospital.
What happened?
According to Capital City Police Peshawar, the victim was killed on December 9, 2025. A First Information Report (FIR) was registered at the Hayatabad Police Station on the complaint of the deceased’s brother.
Police formed a special investigation team under senior supervision to examine the case. Officials say the inquiry relied on forensic and technical evidence as well as interrogations.
What have police alleged?
Investigators allege that the murder was planned by the victim’s wife in coordination with her sister and an alleged associate. Police say the couple had entered into a court marriage without family consent and later experienced serious disputes.
During questioning, the arrested suspects allegedly told investigators that contract killers were hired through a facilitator. Police claim that approximately Rs 1.4 million was paid to carry out the attack.
Authorities have identified Muhammad Nauman as one of the alleged hired attackers and Abdullah as the alleged facilitator. Both are in custody.
Who else is being sought?
Police say raids are ongoing to arrest other suspects, including the victim’s wife, her sister and two additional individuals described as hired attackers.
Officials have also stated that the two men currently in custody are being investigated for alleged involvement in another murder case reported within the limits of Faqirabad Police Station in December 2024.

Police say further investigation is underway and additional arrests are expected. The case will proceed through the criminal justice system, and the allegations remain subject to court proceedings.
