Reports claim that Hayat Khan, the elder brother of a BLA cadre known by the social media handle Bahot, was killed on Sunday by the Bashir Zeb group of the banned Baloch Liberation Army during an internal dispute over control and influence.

The reported killing came after elements linked to the Baloch Republican Army within the BLA allegedly kidnapped the vice chancellor of Gwadar University on Bahot’s instructions, challenging Bashir Zeb’s authority.

According to the claims, the kidnapping was linked to a tribal dispute involving the vice chancellor’s wife’s family, Bahot and Hayat Khan, and was described as a personal matter.

The reports further claim that the kidnapping was not sanctioned by Bashir Zeb, prompting his group to take immediate action against Hayat Khan.

More targeted killings and retaliatory actions between the rival groups and factions are expected in the coming days, according to the claims.
