BISP Chairperson Reviews Social Protection Wallet Registration In Karachi South

KARACHI: Benazir Income Support Programme Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid visited BISP Tehsil Offices in Civil Lines and Aram Bagh, Karachi South, on June 16 to review beneficiary registration under the Social Protection Wallet initiative.

The visit focused on the free SIM issuance process and the rollout of BISP’s newly introduced digital payment and financial inclusion system for eligible families.

During the visit, Senator Rubina Khalid reviewed arrangements at both tehsil offices and observed the registration of beneficiaries for the new payment mechanism. She also interacted with women beneficiaries and briefed them on the use and benefits of the Social Protection Wallet.

According to BISP, the initiative is aimed at making payments more secure, transparent and efficient for deserving households. The system is also designed to improve access to digital financial services for beneficiaries.

Senator Rubina Khalid directed field staff to ensure uninterrupted facilitation at registration points and provide proper guidance to beneficiaries during the transition to the new payment system.

She also stressed the need to strengthen awareness efforts so that beneficiaries understand the registration process, SIM issuance requirements and safe use of digital payment services.

Director General BISP Sindh Sanaullah Rind and Consultant BISP Sindh Naveed Khan were also present during the visit.

Officials said beneficiary support and effective communication would remain important for the smooth implementation of the Social Protection Wallet system in Karachi and other areas.
