ISLAMABAD — The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has announced plans to strengthen immunization coverage by integrating its Benazir Nashonuma Programme with the National Electronic Immunization Registry, aiming to ensure better health outcomes for children from beneficiary families.

The initiative was discussed during a meeting between BISP Chairperson Rubina Khalid, Secretary Amer Ali Ahmad, and Ayesha Raza Farooq, where both sides agreed to enhance institutional coordination and data sharing.

Officials said the integration will link BISP’s conditional cash transfer programme with immunization records, enabling authorities to monitor vaccination status and improve access to essential health services for children nationwide.

The chairperson noted that submission of immunization certificates has already been made mandatory for registration under BISP, highlighting the programme’s focus on preventive healthcare.

Both sides agreed to develop a structured framework for implementation, with technical teams set to finalise data-sharing mechanisms and operational details to ensure effective coordination.
