An important step has been taken to address malnutrition and promote healthy child development with the launch of a live monitoring dashboard under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
Chairperson BISP Senator Rubina Khalid and Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Syed Imran Ahmed Shah attended the launch ceremony. Beneficiary women, children and girls enrolled in the Benazir Nashonuma Programme also participated, along with representatives of development partner organizations.

Speaking at the event, Senator Rubina Khalid said Pakistan’s progress depends on collective efforts. She emphasized that her focus remains on field engagement, as it provides a clearer understanding of ground realities and challenges.
She stressed that effective monitoring and transparency are essential for a strong social protection system. According to her, a robust monitoring mechanism has been established with the support of the Ministry of Health and partner institutions. The newly launched live dashboard will enable real-time oversight of Nashonuma projects, improving transparency and operational efficiency.
Federal Minister Syed Imran Ahmed Shah said Pakistan is facing a serious challenge of malnutrition. He stated that the government’s position is clear: poverty reduction must be built on human development.

He noted that BISP ensures financial assistance and nutritional support to eligible mothers and children. So far, more than 4.3 million mothers and children have benefited from the Benazir Nashonuma Programme.
The minister added that the government views social protection not as charity, but as an investment in the country’s future. Under the Prime Minister’s vision, transparency and effectiveness are being prioritized in the implementation of this major social protection initiative.
Director General NSCR Dr. Asim Ejaz briefed participants on the features and functioning of the Benazir Nashonuma Programme live dashboard during the ceremony.
