ISLAMABAD, May 18: Benazir Income Support Programme has asked women beneficiaries who have not yet received their free SIMs to collect them from the nearest BISP office before June 15, as the upcoming Benazir Kafaalat installment will be disbursed through digital wallets.

The direction was issued during a review meeting at BISP Headquarters chaired by Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid and Secretary Amer Ali Ahmad. The meeting reviewed progress on the distribution of free Benazir SIMs for women beneficiaries and the implementation of the interoperability mechanism.

Senator Rubina Khalid said the next Benazir Kafaalat payment would be made only through digital wallets. She directed officials to speed up SIM distribution and ensure that beneficiaries are informed about the process.

The meeting directed all regional director generals to accelerate the distribution of free SIMs and run awareness efforts for women beneficiaries.

BISP clarified that only those women beneficiaries who have not yet received their free SIMs should visit their nearest BISP office before June 15.

Awareness campaign planned

Senator Rubina Khalid instructed officials to conduct awareness campaigns through BISP offices and community leaders to prevent unnecessary crowding at offices and help beneficiaries complete the process more easily.

The meeting also reaffirmed that the upcoming Benazir Kafaalat installment would be distributed solely through digital wallets.

Additional Secretary BISP Dr Asmat Nawaz and all director generals attended the meeting.
