LAHORE, October 9, 2026: The Benazir Income Support Programme has launched a nationwide training campaign to improve awareness and implementation of its new digital payment system, allowing women beneficiaries to withdraw payments from authorized retailers of partner banks across Pakistan after receiving a payment confirmation SMS.

The training drive began in Lahore and is aimed at familiarizing beneficiaries and BISP staff with the digital wallet system, payment procedures and key security measures.

Speaking at the opening session, BISP Additional Secretary Dr Ismat Nawaz said effective staff training, capacity building and comprehensive beneficiary awareness would be essential for the successful rollout of the digital payment system.

Beneficiaries Can Withdraw Funds From Authorized Retailers Nationwide

Highlighting the importance of interoperability, Dr Ismat Nawaz said women beneficiaries would be able to withdraw their payments from authorized retailers of partner banks in any city across Pakistan after receiving a payment confirmation SMS.

She said the facility is expected to reduce dependence on specific payment centres, cut travel costs and difficulties for beneficiaries, and make access to funds more convenient.

The new arrangement is designed to give women greater flexibility in receiving BISP payments while expanding access through the banking network.
