ISLAMABAD: Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Rubina Khalid, has strongly condemned the suicide blast at an imambargah mosque in Islamabad’s Tarlai area, calling the attack a cowardly and inhumane act.
In a statement, Rubina Khalid expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in the attack and extended her heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the affected families. She said targeting innocent worshippers was a brutal act that reflected complete disregard for humanity.

She added that terrorist elements were attempting to spread fear and instability in the country, but stressed that the entire nation stood united against terrorism and would not allow such forces to succeed in their objectives.
The BISP chairperson said she shared the grief of the affected families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the blast. She reaffirmed the government’s resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and ensure the safety and security of citizens.
“The government remains fully committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism and bringing the perpetrators to justice,” she said.
The suicide blast at the imambargah in Tarlai prompted condemnation from political leaders and public figures, as authorities launched investigations into the incident.
