KUALA LUMPUR — The Beaconhouse International Student Convention (BISC) was held in Malaysia this February, bringing together students from six countries for two days of academic, creative, and athletic competition.
Participants from Beaconhouse schools in Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Thailand, the Philippines, and the United Arab Emirates gathered in Kuala Lumpur under the theme “Global Connections for Common Goals.” The convention provided a shared platform for cross-border collaboration and exchange, reflecting the international presence of the Beaconhouse network.
Students engaged in activities across four key arenas: Sports, Creative, Knowledge, and Gaming. Discussions and competitions focused on issues such as climate responsibility, digital equity, and cultural understanding, encouraging participants to work across disciplines and national boundaries.
Debate and entrepreneurship initiatives
This year’s convention introduced debating to strengthen its academic component. Another highlight was SparkTank@BISC, an entrepreneurship initiative that connected students from all six countries through four pre-event mentoring sessions led by Beaconhouse-Yamsaard Thailand.
Students formed cross-border teams to design joint business ventures before meeting in person in Kuala Lumpur, where they finalized their proposals and presented them to a panel of judges.
Competition results and achievements
Pakistan was declared overall BISC Champion 2026, while Malaysia secured the runner-up position. The Philippines retained the BISC Icon title for the third consecutive year, reflecting consistent performance across multiple categories.
In swimming competitions, several records were broken in both girls’ and boys’ events, underscoring the level of preparation and performance demonstrated by participants.
Now in its tenth year, the Beaconhouse International Student Convention continues to serve as a platform for academic excellence, international engagement, and student collaboration across borders.
