Asma al-Assad, the wife of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has once again been diagnosed with cancer. According to a report by British media, Asma al-Assad is suffering from blood cancer, and her condition is extremely critical. Doctors have stated that her chances of survival are less than 50%. To protect her from infections, she has been placed in isolation.
The report further mentions that Asma’s father, Fawaz Akhras, is currently in Moscow caring for her. In May of this year, the Syrian presidential palace announced that Asma al-Assad had been diagnosed with blood cancer. She had previously battled breast cancer and announced her recovery in 2019.
Before Bashar al-Assad left Syria, the 49-year-old former First Lady had already traveled to Moscow for treatment. There were rumors circulating that Asma al-Assad was unhappy in Moscow and was seeking a divorce from her husband. While Bashar al-Assad’s family has not commented on these rumors, the Kremlin has denied the divorce claims. Close sources to the Assad family have stated that Asma al-Assad is dying, and her chances of survival are less than 50%.
