ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has rejected reports of a forward bloc within the party, saying PTI lawmakers and leaders remain united under the leadership of party founder Imran Khan.
Speaking to a private television channel, Barrister Gohar said there was no division within the party or the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. His remarks come amid recent speculation about internal differences among PTI lawmakers in the province.
The PTI chairman said the party supports democratic discussion and allows members to express differing views. However, he emphasized that major decisions would be made through consultation and consensus.
Support for Sohail Afridi
Barrister Gohar said all party members attended a recent meeting except those who were abroad. He also dismissed suggestions that there was a separate political camp centered around Sohail Afridi.
“This is not Sohail Afridi’s government; it is the government of PTI’s founder,” he said, adding that Afridi enjoys the full support of Imran Khan.
According to Barrister Gohar, all PTI members of the provincial assembly (MPAs) are backing Sohail Afridi, and the party remains united in its political direction.
Party unity
The PTI chairman reiterated that the party leadership is working collectively under the guidance of its founder and that internal matters will continue to be resolved through consultation among party members.
His comments come as PTI seeks to project unity amid ongoing political developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and at the national level.
