MARDAN: Bardasht Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with IFFCO Pakistan, distributed ration packages to 100 widows in Mardan during Ramadan as part of a welfare initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable families.
The assistance included essential food items intended to help widows meet their basic needs during the holy month. Each ration package weighed about 50 kilograms and contained flour and other staple food items.
The distribution ceremony was attended by Bardasht Foundation President Nasiruddin, General Secretary Anum Orakzai, and Information Secretary Junaid Toru, while former president Neelum Toru presided over the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Neelum Toru said Ramadan is a time that encourages compassion and support for those facing hardship. She said the foundation organizes the annual initiative with the support of IFFCO Pakistan to assist widows and vulnerable households in Mardan.
She added that understanding the challenges faced by widows has strengthened her commitment to helping them, particularly during the holy month. Toru also thanked IFFCO Pakistan for its continued support in making the distribution possible.
Muhammad Aqeel, Zonal Sales Manager of IFFCO Pakistan for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said the company has been actively involved in humanitarian and welfare activities and has partnered with Bardasht Foundation for the past three years to support widows in the region.
He praised the efforts of Neelum Toru and her team for ensuring that assistance reaches deserving beneficiaries and said IFFCO Pakistan intends to continue such welfare initiatives in the future.
