DHAKA: Bangladesh Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon attended the inauguration of the Pakistan Education Expo 2026 in Dhaka, where he praised Pakistan’s higher education institutions and welcomed scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students.
The event was organized by the Higher Education Commission in collaboration with the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka to promote academic cooperation and connect Bangladeshi students with Pakistani universities.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the minister said he was impressed by the progress of Pakistan’s education sector after visiting university stalls participating in the expo.
According to officials, the exhibition features several Pakistani universities offering information on admissions, academic programmes, and scholarship opportunities for international students.
Scholarships and regional academic cooperation
A major focus of the expo is the availability of fully funded scholarships for Bangladeshi students seeking higher education in Pakistan.
The minister welcomed the initiative and said it could help students pursue international education without significant financial pressure.
He also highlighted cultural and social similarities between Pakistan and Bangladesh, saying such commonalities could help students adapt more easily during their studies abroad.
Officials said the Pakistan Education Expo 2026 is expected to attract thousands of students and families over the coming days as part of broader efforts to strengthen educational and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
The minister also expressed hope that Bangladeshi students studying in Pakistan would return home after graduation and contribute to national development.
