ISLAMABAD: Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, Chief of the Air Staff of the Bangladesh Air Force, visited the National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad, on Thursday, reaffirming the importance of military-to-military engagement and professional defence education between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The visiting air chief, an alumnus of the National Security and War Course (2010–11), called on Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar, HI (M), President of NDU, during his visit to the university.
Focus on Professional Military Education
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the value of continued cooperation in professional military education, joint training, and capacity-building initiatives. The discussions highlighted the role of defence institutions in fostering strategic understanding, leadership development, and interoperability between armed forces.
Pakistan–Bangladesh Defence Ties Highlighted
The visit underscored the longstanding historical ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh and reflected a shared commitment to strengthening defence collaboration through academic and training exchanges. Both sides expressed interest in expanding engagement in areas of mutual professional interest.
