Balochistan announces summer vacations for government schools from May 23 to July 31 amid rising temperatures across Pakistan.

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has announced summer vacations for schools across the province as temperatures continue to rise in several parts of Pakistan.

According to an official notification issued on Tuesday, summer holidays in government schools in Balochistan will begin on May 23 and continue until July 31. The decision follows similar announcements made by the governments of Punjab and Sindh.

The move affects students, teachers and school staff in government educational institutions across the province, with authorities citing seasonal weather conditions as the reason for the closure.

Punjab and Sindh also announce school holidays

A day earlier, the Sindh Education Department announced that summer vacations for all public and private schools in the province would be observed from June 1 to July 31.

Punjab also confirmed summer vacations for schools across the province. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said in a social media post that schools would close from May 22 and reopen on Aug. 24.

Provincial governments in Pakistan routinely announce summer breaks for educational institutions during periods of extreme heat to reduce health risks for students and staff.
