ISLAMABAD: Bahria University and China’s Fudan University have discussed expanding academic cooperation, with a focus on doctoral education, research linkages and stronger institutional ties between Pakistani and Chinese universities.
A six-member delegation from Fudan University visited Bahria University on October 6 as part of a broader academic engagement aimed at strengthening higher education cooperation between Pakistan and China.
The delegation was led by Chen Yan, Associate Vice President and Executive Dean of the Graduate School at Fudan University, and included senior academics and officials from the university’s graduate, science, international students and global partnerships offices.
During the visit, the delegation held a detailed session on JUSTCOOL, a joint international doctoral recruitment initiative involving Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Tongji University.
The session briefed faculty members, researchers and postgraduate students on doctoral opportunities in disciplines including mathematics, physics, chemistry and life sciences.
The visit also included discussions with Bahria University’s senior leadership and faculty on areas of mutual academic interest and possible future collaboration.
Faculty members, researchers and postgraduate students from universities across Islamabad and Rawalpindi also participated in the engagement, while representatives from Bahria University’s Lahore and Karachi campuses joined through video conferencing.
The interaction provided an opportunity to explore stronger academic linkages, research cooperation and pathways for Pakistani students and scholars to engage with leading Chinese universities.
The visit concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and exchange of souvenirs.
Bahria University said the engagement marked another step towards strengthening academic ties with major Chinese institutions and expanding opportunities for research, postgraduate education and international collaboration.
