BAHAWALPUR: Bahawalpur police have arrested an inter-provincial drug smuggling gang and recovered 20 kilograms of ice (crystal meth) worth RS. 20 million.
The consignment was being smuggled from Balochistan to Punjab.
Addressing a news conference, SP (Investigation) Jamshed Ali Shah, told reporters that police had received intelligence about the transportation of a large quantity of drugs.
Acting on the information, a Samma Satta police team intercepted a car and, during the search, recovered 20 kilograms of ice.
He said that three alleged smugglers, identified as Awais, Zahir and Asmat, all residents of Balochistan, were arrested on the spot.
The SP added that the recovered drugs were being smuggled from Balochistan for distribution in Punjab.
