KARACHI: Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB), in collaboration with Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and three Azerbaijani tourism industry partners, held a series of promotional roadshows in Pakistan to showcase the country’s tourism opportunities and strengthen ties with Pakistan’s travel industry.
The roadshows were held in Lahore on September 15, Karachi on September 17 and Islamabad on September 19, bringing together more than 360 representatives from Pakistan’s tourism sector.
The events were organised with participation from Pakistani industry partners, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Airblue.
Azerbaijan showcases diverse tourism opportunities
The initiative highlighted Azerbaijan’s historical and cultural heritage, winter tourism and ski resorts, health tourism and ecotourism opportunities.
A dedicated presentation also focused on Shusha, which has been designated the Tourism Capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) for 2026.
The presentations were aimed at familiarising Pakistani travel-industry representatives with Azerbaijan’s tourism destinations and expanding opportunities for cooperation between the two markets.
B2B meetings target tourism partnerships
The roadshows also featured business-to-business (B2B) meetings between Azerbaijani and Pakistani tourism representatives.
The meetings provided an opportunity for industry participants to discuss potential partnerships, explore areas of cooperation and develop new business connections between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
The tourism promotion campaign comes as travel-industry stakeholders from both countries seek to expand tourism cooperation and increase awareness of destinations and travel opportunities available to visitors from Pakistan.
