MARDAN: Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan has reviewed preparations for handing over part of its main campus and associated facilities to Postgraduate College Mardan, as the college prepares for the third phase of its relocation to the university’s Garden Campus.
A high-level meeting was held at the Garden Campus under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Jamil Ahmed. The meeting was attended by Postgraduate College Mardan Principal Professor Dr Abrar, Professor Ehsanullah, Professor Taskin Ahmed, Director Administration Farhad Safi and Director Works Waqar Khan.
Participants reviewed the arrangements for the third phase of the college’s relocation and discussed the transfer of buildings, equipment and other essential facilities.
Classrooms, Laboratories and IT Building Included
It was decided in principle that the third phase would include the handover of a building containing 16 classrooms, an IT building, a guest house, two servants’ quarters, six laboratories and other necessary facilities.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Jamil Ahmed directed the relevant officers to complete the transfer of essential equipment and related items as soon as possible.
He also instructed officials to begin construction of the boundary wall alongside the girls’ hostel promptly to ensure that security arrangements and other essential facilities for female students could be completed on time.
Focus on a Safe and Improved Learning Environment
The vice chancellor emphasised coordination among the relevant departments and called for an effective strategy to complete the third phase of the relocation without unnecessary delays.
He said all available resources would be utilised to provide students with a better educational environment, quality facilities and a safe campus.
Professor Dr Abrar thanked the vice chancellor for his personal involvement, continued guidance and efforts to advance the relocation process. He said the university leadership’s cooperation had helped move this important phase forward.
The meeting also reviewed administrative matters relating to the transfer and handover, with relevant officials directed to complete the necessary steps within the required timeframe.
Educational Activities Expected to Benefit
The timely handover of the buildings and facilities is expected to help Postgraduate College Mardan expand its teaching and academic activities from the beginning of the new academic year.
The move is intended to improve the use of available educational infrastructure, provide students with a more conducive learning environment and support the college’s academic operations.
