MARDAN: The 33rd meeting of the Finance and Planning Committee of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmad, where members reviewed the university’s budgetary performance for the current financial year 2025–26.
The committee also recommended adopting the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s notification on enhancing the special conveyance allowance for employees with disabilities.
During the meeting, members approved the launch of a one-year diploma programme in Defence Public Procurement and Contracting, including its fee structure and proposed remuneration rates for faculty members.
Key administrative decisions
The meeting was attended by all deans of the university, nominees of the Higher Education and Finance Departments of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a nominee of the Higher Education Commission, members of the Academic Council and Syndicate nominated to the committee, as well as the Director Planning and Development, Registrar and Treasurer.
The committee also recommended proposed service rates for the Mardan Research Laboratory established at AWKUM, along with consideration of several other agenda items.
Members of the Finance and Planning Committee appreciated the vice chancellor’s initiatives, including the adoption of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, transition to E-Office, and the university’s solarization project aimed at improving energy efficiency.
