Attock Police seize over 142kg narcotics, arrest three in smuggling attempt

ATTOCK: Attock Police have seized more than 142 kilograms of narcotics and arrested three suspects during an operation targeting drug trafficking from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab, officials said.

The action was carried out on the directions of District Police Officer (DPO) Attock Sardar Mavarhan Khan. A police team intercepted a JAC Shehzor vehicle at a checkpost in the Search Park area during routine checking.

Police said the vehicle was carrying 12 sacks filled with pieces of dry bread. Upon inspection, authorities recovered 120 kilograms of charas and 22.8 kilograms of opium concealed inside the sacks.

The arrested suspects were identified as Wajahat Ali Khan, a resident of Islamabad, Muhammad Zeeshan from Talagang, and Zain-ul-Abideen from Mansehra.

Consignment destined for Punjab

According to initial investigations, the narcotics consignment was intended for distribution across different districts of Punjab. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act at Attock Khurd Police Station.

Officials said further investigation is underway to identify other individuals involved in the network.

Crackdown on drug trafficking

DPO Sardar Mavarhan Khan said the police are committed to taking strict action against those involved in narcotics smuggling, adding that curbing drug trafficking remains a top priority to protect society.
