ATTOCK (MS Bokhari): The Attock Passport Office continues to serve hundreds of applicants daily with efficiency and transparency, according to Assistant Director Mian Muhammad Basharat.

He noted that approximately 100 to 150 people visit the office each day. To maintain order, staff process applications strictly according to token numbers.

Mian Basharat explained that a normal passport costs Rs. 4,500. Applicants can pay the fee either online or at the National Bank. Staff typically prepare normal passports within 20 to 25 days.

For urgent processing, the fee rises to Rs. 7,500. In such cases, the office usually completes passports within 8 to 10 days. Moreover, applicants receive an SMS notification once their documents are ready.

To apply, individuals must submit their original CNIC, Family Registration Certificate (FRC), and copies of their parents’ CNICs. In addition, they may need to provide a domicile certificate, land registry, or records predating 1978.

For minors, both parents must present their original CNICs. Furthermore, at least one parent must accompany the child during the application process. If both parents have passed away, the guardian must present a legal certificate.

Despite ongoing staff shortages, Mian Muhammad Basharat emphasized the team’s commitment to delivering dedicated and transparent services. He acknowledged the challenges but praised the staff’s consistent efforts to meet public demand.

Meanwhile, the Attock Passport Office continues to streamline its procedures and improve service delivery. It ensures that applicants receive clear guidance on fees, required documents, and processing timelines. Therefore, residents are encouraged to follow the token system to ensure a smooth and timely experience.
