Rawalpindi:Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, held a meeting with Egyptian President His Excellency Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at the Itihadia Presidential Palace in Cairo, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation and reaffirming the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and Egypt.
COAS Asim Munir lauded the Egyptian leadership’s pivotal role in maintaining regional peace and stability. President el-Sisi, in turn, appreciated Pakistan’s proactive contributions to regional and global issues, particularly those concerning the Muslim Ummah.
Both sides emphasized the importance of enhanced coordination on strategic matters and the expansion of people-to-people ties. They also highlighted opportunities for deeper collaboration in socio-economic development, technology, and security.
