Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and former Speaker of the National Assembly, Asad Qaiser, on Monday addressed students preparing for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) at the Quaid-i-Azam Coaching Academy in Shah Mansoor, urging them to adopt discipline, focus, and a spirit of sacrifice during this decisive phase of their academic journey. Speaking at the event, Mr Qaiser recalled his early years as an educationist, stating that he had always considered himself a teacher first. “From my student days, I have been engaged in running free tuition centres for underprivileged students as a form of public service,” he said. Despite limited resources, Mr Qaiser shared how he personally managed logistics during summer camps, arranging seating, overseeing classes, and working with volunteer instructors, many of whom were students themselves, motivated by the same desire to serve. The former speaker said he laid the foundation of the Quaid-i-Azam Education System in the 1990s, which, he noted, gained the trust of parents and local communities and witnessed significant growth in student enrolment.Terming the period following intermediate studies as “critical,” Mr Qaiser advised students to remain focused. “This is the time when your aspirations and emotions find direction. If you learn to control your desires and stay committed, success will follow,” he remarked. He urged students to make full use of the coming months, stressing the need for discipline, time management, and consistent effort. “There will be ample time for recreation later, but this phase demands seriousness and sacrifice,” he said, adding that external challenges like hot weather or power outages should not deter them.He said that whenever I have worked sincerely towards a goal, Allah has granted me success. Recalling his own political journey, Mr Qaiser said that fifteen years ago, few believed he would win an election, yet it was his persistence and dedication that led to his election as Speaker of both the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and the National Assembly. “I am proud to be the first individual in Swabi’s history to win both National and Provincial Assembly seats simultaneously and that, twice,” he added.
