Dera Ismail Khan: The Anti-Corruption Establishment Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recovered 1,400 kanals of land worth more than Rs25 million in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan district following an inquiry into alleged illegal transfer and fraud.

Officials said the operation was carried out under the supervision of Circle Officer Minhaj Sikandar Baloch, in coordination with the Tehsildar of Kulachi, after a complaint was filed by a local resident, Samiullah, who claimed that the land originally belonged to his family.

According to the Anti-Corruption Department, the complainant alleged that a resident of Dera Ismail Khan, Syed Mumtaz Ali, in collusion with officials of the revenue department, had fraudulently claimed ownership of the land and later sold it to another individual, Habib-ur-Rehman.

During the inquiry, it was found that only Rs200,000 had been deposited into the national exchequer in connection with the transaction, causing significant financial loss to the government. Officials said the investigation confirmed the allegations, leading to action for recovery of the land.

As a result of the operation, the illegally occupied land measuring 1,400 kanals was retrieved and restored. The Anti-Corruption Department said further legal action would be taken against those found involved in the fraudulent transfer and illegal occupation of state land.
