Mirpur: Renowned Islamic scholar Pir Bilal Sultan announced that the Jamia Islamia Al-Hira Community College, operating under the Sultan Bahoo Trust since 2003, will hold its annual convocation on Sunday, April 13. The ceremony will be graced by the presence of special guests Sahibzada Sultan Niaz-ul-Hassan and Sahibzada Sultan Fayaz-ul-Hassan.
Speaking at a press conference at the Kashmir Press Club in Mirpur alongside faculty members and students, Pir Bilal Sultan shared that the institution currently provides education to approximately 500 students, including 300 girls and 170 boys. A majority of these students hail from Azad Kashmir, while many also come from various regions of Pakistan.
The college offers both religious and contemporary education, with all expenses—including tuition, accommodation, and meals—fully covered by the Sultan Bahoo Trust. Students from the institution consistently achieve top positions in examinations conducted by universities, colleges, Tanzeem-ul-Madaris, and Jamia Bhera Sharif.
Pir Bilal Sultan further stated that students at the college pursue education from matriculation up to MPhil and PhD levels. Each year, six students are selected and sent to prestigious institutions such as the Islamic University, Bhera Sharif, and Minhaj-ul-Quran for higher studies and specialized courses.
So far, forty students from Jamia Islamia Al-Hira have earned top positions in various academic competitions. During the upcoming convocation, outstanding graduates will be awarded certificates and prizes in recognition of their achievements.
