Android apps targeting Pakistani officials have been uncovered, prompting the National Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) to issue an advisory.
According to the advisory, these suspicious apps gain access to users’ personal and financial data with their consent. This data includes media files, contact lists, call logs, and messages.
The National CERT has warned users to only install apps from trusted sources and regularly review app permissions.
Users are advised to install reliable antivirus and anti-malware software, disable unnecessary location services, and avoid using smartphones in sensitive environments.
