Bollywood actress Ananya Panday has revealed that her father, actor Chunky Panday, was out of work for a long time and stayed home during a difficult phase in his career.
In a recent conversation with Indian media, Ananya recalled her father’s struggles, saying, “I was born during a period when my dad’s career was at a low point. Watching the ups and downs of his career taught me a lot about success and failure. He was never even invited to chat shows like Koffee with Karan.”
She shared that Chunky Panday was a prominent actor before her birth, but after she was born, he began taking on different types of roles. “There was a long time when he had no work, and I saw him sitting at home,” she added.
Ananya further said that as a child, she visited her father’s sets only once or twice because he didn’t have many projects at the time. “People didn’t gather outside our house to catch a glimpse of him,” she said.
When asked about the lessons she learned from Chunky Panday’s career, Ananya expressed admiration for his adaptability. “I am inspired by his willingness to embrace change. He took on all kinds of roles—lead, supporting, and even negative ones—which I think is a beautiful thing,” she concluded.
