A man was killed and three others, including two women, were injured when armed men allegedly opened fire during an attempted abduction of a woman who had married by choice in Jatoi, Ali Pur, police said on Tuesday.
According to police, Shabana had married Ahmed Raza, a resident of Basti Dina, by choice. The incident reportedly occurred when Asghar and Amjad, accompanied by more than 10 armed men, allegedly arrived at Shabana’s home and attempted to take her away.
One killed, three injured in firing
Police said the armed men opened indiscriminate fire during the incident. Abdul Hakeem sustained gunshot wounds and died, while three people, including two women, were injured.
The injured were shifted for medical treatment, according to police.
Police said further investigation into the incident is underway, while details regarding arrests and the identities of all those involved were not immediately available.
