LAHORE: The Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) has reviewed promotion cases of its officers and staff during a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee, reinforcing its commitment to a merit-based promotion system.
The meeting, chaired by Executive Director Muhammad Nawaz Gondal, assessed cases based on performance, service record and eligibility, with decisions taken in line with institutional policy to ensure transparency and fairness.

Deputy Director Administration Umair Hassan, Curator Hajra Mehmood, Auditor and Accounts Officer Mohib Shamsi, along with other members, attended the session.
Focus on performance and transparency
Officials said promotions are being treated as a recognition of employees’ performance and professional capability, with the aim of improving morale and maintaining institutional standards.
The committee emphasized that evaluations would continue to follow defined criteria to ensure consistency and accountability in decision-making.
Regular reviews and training plans
Muhammad Nawaz Gondal announced that the promotion committee will meet every six months to review eligible cases in a timely manner. He also directed that officers requiring additional training for promotion be nominated to the Management and Professional Development Department (MPDD).
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of Alhamra’s focus on a transparent and merit-driven promotion process.
