Islamabad— Aleema Khan, sister of former prime minister Imran Khan, said on Monday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders will continue their sit-in until progress is made in the Al-Qadir Trust case, accusing authorities of delaying justice.

Speaking to media outside the High Court, Aleema Khan said she, along with legal counsel Salman Safdar, approached the Chief Justice’s office to seek clarity on the day’s proceedings. She said they were informed that no hearing date could be issued until the Chief Justice returns, while a delegation is expected to arrive in the meantime.

Aleema Khan said the party would continue to raise the issue publicly, urging media to observe what she described as ongoing engagements without progress on delivering justice. “We asked them to give us a date, but they said no date can be given until the Chief Justice returns. Remember this,” she said.

PTI to continue protest

She reiterated that PTI leadership would not end the sit-in until a hearing date is formally announced, adding that the party is prepared to face any action.

“We do not fear police action or the use of force. We are ready for any situation and will not leave until our demand is met,” she said.

Lawyers, PTI chairman seek early hearing

Meanwhile, lawyers representing Imran Khan said the case has been pending before the Islamabad High Court for over 15 months, with multiple hearing dates passing without progress. Counsel Salman Safdar said the case has now been scheduled for hearing on Tuesday due to the Chief Justice’s absence, adding that they have received assurances regarding its listing.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar also appealed for an early hearing, urging the court to proceed with the case without further delay.

Legal representatives, including Salman Safdar and Salman Akram Raja, stressed that the case must be heard promptly, stating that a decision should be delivered regardless of the outcome.

Warning over Imran Khan’s safety

Aleema Khan also criticised relevant authorities and warned that responsibility would lie with judges if any harm comes to Imran Khan.

Her remarks come amid ongoing legal and political developments surrounding the Al-Qadir Trust case, which has remained a focal point of PTI’s confrontation with state institutions.
