In a statement issued on Monday, she said the family would not accept any claims regarding Imran Khan’s medical condition unless his personal physician, Dr Asim Yusuf, and family representative Dr Nausherwan Burki are physically present during examination and treatment. She said the family has already shared names of acceptable specialists with the authorities through his personal doctors.

Dispute over medical board and hospital transfer

A day earlier, Aleema Khan rejected reports that the government was forming a medical board to examine Imran Khan. She stated that the family would not accept any board constituted or supervised by the authorities without their nominated representatives present.

She also referred to media reports suggesting that Imran Khan could be shifted to Al Shifa Eye Hospital in Rawalpindi. According to her statement, the family does not accept any examination, treatment or medical report carried out without the presence and approval of his personal doctors and family representatives.

Aleema Khan said the family’s position has remained consistent from the outset: Imran Khan should be admitted to Shifa International Hospital for independent evaluation and proper care under direct supervision of his chosen medical team.

Family raises concerns over access

The family had earlier nominated Dr Uzma Khan to represent them but were informed that Imran Khan’s sisters would not be permitted to be present during medical examination, she said. Aleema Khan added that the family has full confidence in Dr Nausherwan Burki to act as their representative.

She described it as deeply concerning that the authorities were resisting the presence of Imran Khan’s personal doctors during medical assessment. In the absence of their nominated representatives, she said, the family categorically rejects any official statements regarding his examination, treatment or health status.

Government officials have not yet issued a detailed response to the latest statement. The matter adds to ongoing tensions between Imran Khan’s family and authorities over transparency and access to independent medical supervision.
