Election campaigning for Kashmiri refugee seats in Pakistan ahead of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections concluded on Saturday night, with polling scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Political activity intensified on the final day of campaigning, with candidates and party leaders holding last-minute meetings with voters and completing election preparations across various constituencies.

Muslim Conference Candidate Campaigns in Gujar Khan

In Tehsil Gujar Khan, the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference candidate for LA-44 Valley 5, Mehr-un-Nisa, conducted a series of campaign visits and corner meetings on the final day of electioneering.

The party said the campaign focused on mobilizing supporters ahead of polling day.

Party Leadership Reviews Election Arrangements

According to party officials, former AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attiq Ahmed Khan spoke by telephone with Muneer Ahmad Malhotra, General Secretary of the Muslim Conference in Tehsil Gujar Khan, to discuss election preparations and organizational matters.

Malhotra, along with Shahzaman Durrani, Central Vice President of the Muslim Conference (Valley), also toured different areas of the tehsil to meet party workers and voters.

Polling Preparations Completed

Party representatives said arrangements for polling stations across approximately 13 electoral areas in Tehsil Gujar Khan were finalized before the campaign ended.

According to the party, polling agents were assigned and preparations were reviewed to facilitate a peaceful voting process and provide necessary support for voters and party workers at polling camps.

Polling for the Kashmiri refugee seats is scheduled to take place on August 2, after which the electoral process will move to vote counting.
