Indian viewers have drawn comparisons between Ajay Devgn’s character Vanraj in the Bollywood hit Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Abu Bakr from the Pakistani drama Dar-e-Nijat, triggering a debate among fans on social media.

Dar-e-Nijat has gained popularity across South Asia, attracting viewers in both Pakistan and India. Several celebrities and social media influencers have also praised the drama, reflecting its growing cross-border appeal.

The discussion began after an Indian fan shared a post comparing Vanraj, portrayed by Ajay Devgn, with Abu Bakr from Dar-e-Nijat.

The fan suggested that audiences had their own version of Abu Bakr in the 1990s, arguing that both characters shared similar qualities.

However, the comparison was not welcomed by many Indian fans of the Pakistani drama, who disagreed with the assessment.

One user argued that the two stories were entirely different, adding that Salman was not Zamil. Another commented that there was no need to claim ownership of every good character or story.

Other viewers described Abu Bakr as a unique and original character, while one fan insisted that the two characters were not alike and praised Abu Bakr’s appearance.

The debate reflects the growing popularity of Dar-e-Nijat among Indian audiences and the strong reactions its characters are generating on social media.
