Mumbai authorities have taken action against alleged unauthorized construction at Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s bungalow in Mumbai’s Juhu area, with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reportedly demolishing parts of the property.
According to Indian media reports, BMC officials acted against construction and internal alterations allegedly carried out without the required permissions at Devgn’s bungalow in the Kapol Cooperative Housing Society.
BMC Issues Notice Over Unauthorized Work
Municipal officials reportedly said the property was being modified for commercial use, particularly for a salon, but the necessary approvals had not been obtained from the relevant authorities.
BMC had issued a notice to the property owners under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, directing them to stop the construction work and submit the required documents and permissions.
Officials said the construction allegedly continued despite the notice, prompting the civic body to take further action and demolish certain unauthorized portions of the property.
Bungalow Reportedly Leased for Salon Business
Devgn’s bungalow is reportedly spread across around 7,802 square feet and is located in Juhu’s Kapol Cooperative Housing Society.
Indian media reports said the Devgn family leased the property in August 2026 to Florin Heurel Salon Private Limited for five years for approximately Rs106.1 million. The agreement reportedly set the initial monthly rent at Rs1.6 million.
According to municipal officials, various internal changes were being made to convert the property for salon and other commercial activities, including alterations to internal walls, windows and other sections.
The BMC reportedly said the required approval from its Building Proposal Department had not been obtained for the work.
Parts of the alleged unauthorized construction were demolished around two days before the report was published, according to the cited reports.
